The profile of the swelling AQUASTOP PNR

The AQUASTOP ® PNR type swelling profiles are manufactured from hydrophilic rubber, which possesses the ability to expand in volume upon contact with water.

This property allows for the successful application of these profiles in the sealing of joints and connections, both in monolithic construction and in the assembly of prefabricated concrete structures.

To prevent swelling in freshly poured concrete before it gains strength and to reduce storage and transportation requirements, PNR profiles are coated with a special varnish that disintegrates in the alkaline environment of concrete or upon prolonged exposure to water.

  • The installation of PNR profiles is executed in the central part of the structure. The distance to any side of the concrete structure should not be less than 50 mm.
  • The concrete surface must be cleaned of dust, dirt, standing water, or ice.
  • Attachment should be carried out using adhesives, mastics, or sealants that take into account external conditions. In winter, for reliable attachment, it is recommended to additionally use strips of metal mesh and secure with anchor nails spaced 150-200 mm apart.
  • When joining, the profile should be laid tightly edge to edge.
